High Street Methodist church is a busy church centre that is at the heart of the community. As a base for many community projects, some run by the church and some by partner agencies, the church is well known in the community for being a place that makes a difference. Mission is at the heart of who we are, and our gathered worship on a Sunday encourages and inspires us as a family to live out the life that Christ calls us to. Just some projects that happen out of our building are; Town Centre Chaplaincy, Witney Fridge/Larder, CAP, Shoebox Appeal, Charity events, Toddler Groups, Volunteer Link Up, Counselling and many more....
On a Sunday our gathered worship tries to blend the traditional and new to enable us to be a multigenerational family that puts the love of worshipping together over and above wanting it to be what each of us 'like'. We want our worship to be transformative as we fix our eyes on Jesus and rejoice in the presence of the Holy Spirit. All are welcome, so come as you are with no pressure or pretence and here you will find a safe place to start discovering new possibilities in God.
We also worship at other times through the week, in small groups, Tuesday reflections and worship nights are just some of the other ways we come together to worship God.
You will find the church centre buzzing with people day and evening due to the many rooms we have available to hire out to community groups. There are many activities that you can participate in that run throughout the week ie mums and toddlers groups, grandparents group, dance groups, counselling sessions, singing groups etc. and you are always welcome to pop in to the coffee bar Monday through Saturday. Do visit us and see for yourself! The Centre Manager will have a full list of groups meeting here and their contact details.
