12th October 2025
Sight Loss Sunday is an initiative by Torch Trust, an organisation dedicated to enabling blind and partially sighted people to encounter Jesus, grow in their faith and thrive in Christian community. Sight Loss Sunday is a great opportunity to celebrate those who are blind and partially sighted in our congregations and communities; and to equip the church to achieve it's aim of welcoming all of God's people.
This year, Sight Loss Sunday will be taking place on Sunday 12th October 2025. Our theme is 'Who does God call?' We will be looking at vocation through the lens of Samuel and Eli and through the words Paul writes to the church in Corinth. It will be an opportunity to celebrate God's gifts and calling on those with sight loss as part of God's wider calling on His Church and His people; and to think about what God may be calling each of us to do.
We have a suite of resources available on our website (www.torchtrust.org/sight-loss-friendly-church/sight-loss-sunday/) including a fully planned all age service, a recorded sermon, a video celebrating the leadership gifts and experience of those with sight loss and lots more.
We would love churches to celebrate Sight Loss Sunday with us on 12 October but if that date doesn't work for you, the resources can be used at any time of the year to consider the themes of Sight Loss and vocation.
If you would like any more information about the work of Torch Trust and how we can support you as you welcome those with Sight Loss, please do have a look at our website www.torchtrust.org or get in touch slfc@torchtrust.org
